Alaaf! Viva Colonia!
“Jecken” for a weekend. We are back in the city with K… Köln (Cologne). The city of carnival, one of the biggest celebrations in (the west of) Germany. It’s one of the most colorful, musical, and downright crazy festivals on earth.
It’s all about the costumes and everybody (really, everybody) is dressed up. The theme for last night: circus. Our theme: two Pierrot clowns. Black & white. Pantomime. Sad clowns.
Just getting ready for the party was already so much fun.
People in fancy dress of all kinds filled the amazingly decorated hall, sipping Kölsch (Cologne’s favorite beer), singing, dancing and laughing.
I love dressing up. I love carnival. I love Cologne in the 5th season. My old favorite festival. Oh, how much I missed it. It’s fabulous to be back. And we already planned to be back next year…
And a little reminder to not forget carnival for the next 31 years… Alaaf!
