Today is my third time at the Giant’s Causeway. And always at Easter. 2010 when I was introduced to hubby’s family. 2014 when we got engaged and introduced our parents. And Easter 2026 💚
Stormy & beautiful 🌊
What is the Giant’s Causeway besides being stunning?
It’s an area of interlocking basalt columns. More than 40.000 to be exact. It’s the result of an ancient volcanic fissure eruption, and on the north coast of Northern Ireland.
Most of the columns are hexagonal, the tallest are approximately 12 metres high, and the solidified lava in the cliffs is 28 metres thick in places. The tops of the columns form stepping stones that lead from the cliff foot and disappear under the sea.
Spring in Ireland.
That yellow looks so good. Probably the only hedge which can survive that wind 💨 First left, followed by a right turn…
No words needed…
Cruising along the scenic route…
