al fresco – outdoor season open

Window view from terrace into garden

This is a beautiful spring / early summer. Every day sunshine and blue sky…. Since weeks… Wow! And the forecast stays like this. Wohoooo.

My only problem: allergies 🤧

We turned our garden into an all-day destination. Our weekends are like this:

We love our little Al fresco paradise

8:30am: take a seat

Good morning! Starting the day surrounded by beautiful flowering pits & a cappuccino before the day really begins.

10:30am: time for a second cappuccino & potter around

Simple acts of watering, pruning & planting feels relaxing and like a helpful distraction from any pressure of the day.

Puh, hard work
Hotel for insects: having bees for lunch
Hops are growing 🍻

Noon: time for lunch

I love visiting my garden to get a few fresh herbs for my lunch. Everything tastes better with fresh herbs. Cannot wait for strawberries, blackberries, lettuce and tomatoes to be ready for harvest.

Lettuce is growing

4:00pm: take a snooze

After a “busy” (lol) day, an afternoon nap can soothe the soul. Taking one in the open air and enjoying the hazy warmth. My favorite place is the hammock. Gentle swings… a dog jumping on… and we both gently fall asleep, waking up to singing birds and insects.

Chilling in the sun

6pm: cocktail hour

Sundowners are delicious.

7:30pm: gather around

Eating dinner outside feels like a treat, especially if it comes straight from the BBQ. Our table is covered with beautiful linen. Plates, cutlery, napkins and candles. Ready for dinner. Sometimes with friends.

9pm: night time

As the day draws to a close, there’s no need to head straight back inside. The best part of the day: seeing the beginning of nightfall. Have a blanket ready to be wrapped around, evenings are still a bit chilly.

I wish every day was like weekend 🌞

Do I sound like a retired person? Lol.
