Greece. Rhodes. O mei. So beautiful. Sun-kissed. Salt on our skin. Dinner at the most beautiful tavernas. Crystal clear turquoise waters. Fine beaches. Fabulous! Can I stay longer please?

Rhodes – an island for sun-seekers & beach lovers with 300 sunny days per year. We got 9 out of 9 😁 Rhodes was perfect for us & for the cats.

One week Rhodes with my mum. The idea was born after moms knee surgery last year. A motivation for her and something to look forward to. Here we go, 8 months later, she cannot only walk again pain free but swim in the Mediterranean Sea. Best idea treating us to a week Rhodes in Greece.

We could have easily stayed in our hotel and not leave. But if you know me, you know I get itchy feet… and anyhow Rhodes has sooo much to offer: crystal-clear turquoise waters & rugged cliffs, Mediterranean flair, breathtaking beaches, serene nature, delicious food, colorful flowers, and medieval architecture make the island of Rhodes one of the best destinations.

So, just hanging lazy on the beach (maybe mums idea…)? Not on Rhodes! 😁

(Kite) surfing, beach hopping including hanging up on the finest sandy beaches, dining in Greek tavernas!!! Swimming in antique or orient flair, the Akropolis above the sea, buying olives & olive oil, sleeping in, enjoying Rhodes Old Town – a new favorite town in Europe, a boat trip to Simi Island… it was wonderful. I especially admire how proud the Greeks are to be part of the EU.

Beaches! We visited many and each one unique and just wonderful.

Enjoying the laid-back atmosphere while lounging on a sunbed. Later, heading over to the charming seaside tavernas for some mouthwatering Greek food – oh mei. What a life!

An Island filled with olive trees… Olive oil production on Rhodes but no export! You have to come here to buy… guess how many liters I have wrapped in my suitcase?

Greek food… OMG!!! So good! Fresh catch of the day. Calamari. Tzatziki. Pita bread. Greek salad already for breakfast. Olives. You name it…!!!

Did you know that back in 1925, Rhodes was an Italian Province… the “Thermes Kallithea” is just one beautiful example.

That beach view is unreal for sunset!

Bumpy safari with 8 Jimmy’s – my trip planned as an “escape” to give my mum and me a little space turned out as the best safari ever. A beautiful (off-road) ride through small Greek villages, mountains, forests, olive fields, and riverbeds. We smelt herbs & flowers, ate local food and were swimming the calm Eastcoast.

Rhodes Old Town, a new favorite European city!

A trip to Symi Island. The harbor is more than a destination—it’s a mosaic of stories, colors, and serenity 🇬🇷

Exquisite, insane blue hue at Saint George Bay.

Symi flourished due to its shipbuilding and sponge diving industries. And today, you can still see its maritime heritage reflected in its colorful buildings and vibrant harbor.

There’s so much to love about Symi Island. Our only regret? Not spending a couple of days on the island… I definitely have to come back!

Last day in Rhodes and we’re going out with a bang!

Arrived at the most southern point of Rhodes: Prasonisi (which means ‘Green island’ in Greek) is the only place in Rhodes where you can see where the Aegean and Mediterranean Sea meet.

The island has so much to offer…. Not sure what I expected but wow, Rhodes is stunning!

I love it!!
